Positon: Senior Consultant - Reporting specialist

Job Title: Senior Consultant - Reporting specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated ability in collaborating with business stakeholders to define requirements, conduct data analysis for decision-making support, and create compelling data visualizations.
  • Craft effective layouts adhering to best practices in data visualization for real-time dashboards.
  • Skillfully use Power BI navigation features (e.g., bookmarks, drill-through) to weave a compelling, data-driven narrative.
  • Import data from diverse sources and perform necessary transformations in Power BI Query Editor, using both the UI and M code.
  • Engage in data modeling and develop DAX calculations that are both accurate and efficient, even with large datasets.
  • Create, finalize, and deploy production-ready reports and dashboards to the corporate platform.
  • Serve as a confident communicator and collaborator with stakeholders at all levels, providing advice, training, and support.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the full suite of Power BI products (including Embedded and Reporting Services).
  • Possess a strong background in cloud-based Microsoft Azure Data and Analytics, Microsoft DevOps (VSTS), and Agile delivery.
  • Demonstrate ownership of issues and requests, while thriving in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and creative thinking to reporting challenges.
  • Offer mentorship and support to junior developers within the team.
  • Work alongside Business Analysts to identify data requirements and determine next steps.
  • Effectively communicate technical challenges and data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Fundamental understanding of data and analytics processes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest Power BI features and functionalities.
  • Proficiency in SQL, DAX, Databricks, and M.
  • Deep understanding of Power BI Service operations.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with SSAS (both Tabular and Multi-dimensional), Flow, and Power Apps is beneficial.
  • Strong experience in creating custom visuals, dynamic reporting, and performance-oriented apps.
  • Ability to assess data quality and establish data quality KPIs.
  • Understanding of data security, including implementation of row-level security and data sensitivity classifications.

Desirable:

  • Experience in utilities, particularly in data and analytics, is an advantage.
  • Skills in roadmaps creation and delivery management.
  • Capabilities in stakeholder engagement and expectation management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum & Kanban practices in practical settings.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Pipeline Development, and familiarity with Azure Platform capabilities and analytics products.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based platforms (PaaS) and the data and analytics delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience in implementing Agile development practices within new teams.
